People Rescuing Animals…Animals Rescuing People.®
The San Francisco team volunteered to support Animal Rescue Foundation, which meant starting the day working in the ARF Thrift Store. This is a Thrift Store, an avenue for financial support strictly for ARF. We had 10 Talent team members who spent the morning locating and moving merchandise to designated racks based on colored tags. They also organized sales racks by type of product or color of clothing making them more shop-able.
All sales proceeds from the ARF Thrift Store support the life-saving efforts of the ARF Emergency Medical Fund® which provides quality, affordable, veterinary care through the ARF clinic for the companion animals of low-income Contra Costa County residents.
Last year, after operational costs, the Thrift store raised $173K to support the ARF facility which is an absolutely amazing establishment! To know this place has saved over 42,000 dogs and cats was an honor for the team to be a part of. All 42,000 dogs and cats were on the A24 list to be put to sleep, but were instead taken into the shelter.
The Thrift Store manager said our team had a record breaking performance by accomplishing more than any other volunteer group they’ve had.
After our work at the Thrift store, we got a tour of the ARF facility. Words can’t describe the establishment.
